Hansen Engineering, LLC is a Southeast Alaska based company that has provided civil and environmental engineering services to the people of Alaska since 1985. Hansen Engineering, LLC has completed projects all over Alaska, including Southeast Alaska, Southcentral Alaska, the Valdez area, the Kenai area, and Kodiak.
Services provided by Hansen Engineering, LLC range from engineering planning through design for construction to inspection and construction management. This includes securing and managing support services, for example: architects, electrical engineers, geologists, and surveyors. Hansen Engineering has also been very active supporting the Juneau Real Estate market by providing home inspections to both home buyers and home sellers. About 1/2 of our annual business is comprised of these structural inspections and engineering reports for both residential and commercial real estate sales.
Hansen Engineering, LLC has consulting experience in the fields of SPCC plans, oil spill contingency plans, water resources, water supply, water pollution control, utilities, storm drainage, sewerage, sewage and industrial waste treatment, and in solid waste management landfills and incinerators. In addition to our experience in resource development, we have completed projects involving water supply and treatment, docks, fish hatcheries, energy and power, subdivisions and surveys.
The company founder, Ron Hansen, has over 45 years of professional engineering experience, with 27 years of service in Alaska. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and California. He is also a Diplomate in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. Ron Hansen started his professional career in 1952 and has been in Alaska since 1971. Ron Hansen was Chief of Water Pollution Control for the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation for 9 years, after which he entered the private sector. Since entering the private sector, Ron Hansen has managed many projects in Alaska. Additionally, prior to 1971, he worked in the fields of water pollution control, and water resources management for 19 years. Through this vast experience, Ron Hansen has developed a thorough knowledge of Alaska regulations and design requirements.
Tim Hansen, who joined the company in 1998, has completed both a Master of Science in Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington where he focused his studies in civil engineering, and project management. Prior to pursuing graduate studies at the University of Washington, Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. He has also passed the EIT exam, and completed the required arctic engineering course for licensing in the state of Alaska. Tim primarily conducts structural inspections / home inspections for the Juneau real estate market, but has also been involved in SPCC planning for several Alaska Department of Transportation facilities and several residential sewer design projects.
