The New Year is upon us, and looking back at 1998, it has been a very exciting year for Hansen Engineering. For starters, the company has doubled in size with the addition of Tim Hansen. His addition has greatly increased our capacity for home inspections and other services. We also changed our name from Hansen Engineering to Hansen Engineering, LLC to accommodate our modest growth.
Most of you know Ron Hansen. Ron started Hansen Engineering back in 1985. Since then he has done over two thousand inspections/re-inspections. In addition to providing home inspections, he is a well-respected engineer in the community providing a variety of other engineering services to the people of Southeast.
If you haven’t already met Tim out in the field, Tim has an undergraduate engineering degree from UCLA, and recently completed his Masters in Engineering and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Tim is also working towards obtaining his Professional Engineers license (PE). He has passed the required Fundamentals of Engineering exam, and has also completed the required Arctic Engineering course offered through UAF. Working closely with Ron Hansen, who is a registered PE himself, Tim is qualified to do Engineering Reports/Home Inspections.
Being in a time crunch can be frustrating, so we know how important it is for a quick turn around on the engineers report. We are striving to make the report process as professional, efficient, and informative as possible. In an effort to speed up the turn around time between when the inspection is completed, and the report is faxed, we have invested a great deal of money during 1998 in updating our office technology. Our office is now fully networked, and has new computers. In addition, some of you may have seen Tim’s new digital camera, which has allowed him to show many clients hard to find problems in crawlspaces and attics during the inspection. The camera has also allowed us to document serious problems for insurance claims.
